AI Revolution: African Brands Congress to Convene Industry Leaders in Lagos

Posted by allcitynews.ng

The African Brands Congress (ABC) will bring together business executives, marketing professionals, technology experts, policymakers and brand owners from across Africa and beyond to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can transform brand development, consumer engagement and business competitiveness.

The 2026 edition, themed “The Future of Brands in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” will hold on Monday, November 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ballroom of the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

The congress is designed to provide industry stakeholders with practical insights into the opportunities and challenges of integrating AI into branding, marketing, communications and customer experience, while preserving the authenticity and cultural identity of African brands.

As AI increasingly influences how consumers discover products, how businesses personalise marketing messages and how organisations manage customer relationships, African brands face growing pressure to adapt to technological changes without compromising public trust, creativity and cultural relevance.

The congress will examine how businesses can harness AI-powered tools to understand consumer behaviour, anticipate market demand, streamline content production and improve customer service, while addressing concerns about data privacy, intellectual property, algorithmic bias and misinformation.

The programme will feature plenary sessions, panel discussions, masterclasses, an exhibition floor and structured networking opportunities, providing participants with a platform to exchange ideas, showcase innovations and explore business partnerships.

Discussions will centre on five key areas: AI-powered consumer insights; generative AI and content creation; automation, customer experience and digital trust; AI, intellectual property and brand governance; and building AI-ready brand organisations.

The sessions will explore how predictive analytics and machine learning can strengthen consumer intelligence, how generative AI is changing advertising and creative production, and how automated customer service can improve engagement without eroding the human connection that remains central to brand loyalty.

Participants will also examine the policies, skills, infrastructure and organisational changes required to adopt AI responsibly and sustainably.

The congress is expected to attract brands and professionals from the fast-moving consumer goods, financial services, technology, telecommunications, fashion, beauty, media, entertainment, agriculture, retail, hospitality, tourism, automotive, professional services, education and public sectors.

Beyond knowledge sharing, the organisers aim to use the gathering to connect brand owners, advertising and communications agencies, technology providers, investors and policymakers to stimulate collaboration and investment across Africa's brand economy.

The event will also provide opportunities for organisations to showcase their innovations and celebrate outstanding African brands and industry innovators through its awards and exhibition platforms.

At the end of the congress, the organisers expect to produce a communique outlining recommendations on AI adoption, ethical practices and policy considerations for brands operating in African markets. Other anticipated outcomes include new business partnerships, investment discussions and stronger professional networks to support continued learning and collaboration.

The African Brands Congress is an annual platform focused on strengthening the competitiveness of African brands, promoting home-grown business excellence and connecting stakeholders across the continent's brand economy.

The 2026 gathering will seek to address a central question for businesses navigating rapid technological change: how can African brands use artificial intelligence to compete globally while retaining the identity, credibility and consumer trust that distinguish them?
