While warning the country against   the out of school children,  the child-focused organisation, admitted that large numbers of children — especially those from poor and vulnerable backgrounds — continue to be denied access to safe and inclusive education across the country. In a statement, the Saffron Social Development Global Foundation Director, Opeyemi Ebulu-Eyuruntari, said poverty, displacement, child labour and abuse were among the main factors keeping children out of classrooms. “Education remains the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and exclusion, yet for millions of Nigerian children it remains out of reach,” she said. Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the solar system, the Head of Cooperation, European Union Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Massimo De Luca, said the EU and Germany have been working closely with SON to deliver the solar project. According to him, the EU has been supporting SON to develop innovations that improve energy performance in Nigeria, adding that the donation reflects its continued partnership with the agency.
