OPay, leading financial technology company has reiterated its commitment to continue serving its customers across the country.

Opay stated this on its X handle to clear air on the spiral statement made by an X user, Hafserh advising customers to withdraw their money from the fintech company.

OPay has also threatens legal action through Akinfolabi Moses Rokosu, OPay’s Chief Legal Counsel against the user on the derogatory viral post ‘Withdraw Your Money’ claiming service suspension.

In its statement, OPay said, its attention was drawn to a post published by the user on August 30, in which customers were allegedly advised to clear out their accounts amid claims that the fintech company was planning to suspend its services.

This has made the financial technology to face serious heightened scrutiny over unverified information that has created panic among the customers.

"We are aware of a false and misleading publication circulating across social media claiming that OPay will be going on an indefinite break from September 1, 2026, and advising customers to withdraw or transfer their funds.

This claim is completely false. OPay is not going on any break. We remain fully operational, and our services continue as normal.

The circulating publication is not an official OPay communication. We urge you to disregard the information and not take any action based on the fabricated claim.

Please always verify information concerning OPay through our official communication channels before sharing or acting on it.

Our verified platforms remain the trusted source for announcements and updates about our services.
