NACCIMA President, Jani Ibrahim Emerges FEWACCI President In Keenly Contested Election

The National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, NACCIMA, Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, has been elected President of the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry, FEWACCI.


His emergence followed a keenly contested election that attracted wide interest across the West African sub-region.


The development was announced in a press release issued on Tuesday in Lagos.


The statement was signed by the Director-General of NACCIMA, Engr. Sola Obadimu.


According to Obadimu, Ibrahim’s election represents a significant milestone for Nigeria and the organised private sector.


He described the victory as a strong endorsement of Ibrahim’s distinguished leadership and strategic vision.


He said it also reflects Ibrahim’s unwavering commitment to private sector development in Nigeria and beyond.


Obadimu noted that the election is an important achievement not only for NACCIMA but for the entire West African business community.


He said Ibrahim’s leadership qualities stood him out among other contenders in the race.


As President of FEWACCI, Ibrahim is expected to advance cooperation among chambers of commerce in the sub-region.


He is also expected to strengthen regional economic integration and promote intra-West African trade.


Obadimu said Ibrahim will champion policies that support enterprise growth and competitiveness.


He expressed confidence that Ibrahim will bring his wealth of experience to bear on the new assignment.


Engr. Ibrahim has been at the forefront of advocacy for a more enabling environment for businesses in Nigeria.

  The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has released the full list of 16 officers of the Armed Forces of Nigeria who were indicted by a Special Investigative Panel over allegations of serious misconduct, including an alleged plot to overthrow the government of President Bola Tinubu. The Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, disclosed on Monday that the panel had concluded its investigation and found that several of the officers had cases to answer. He said the affected personnel would now face a military Court Martial in line with established procedures and extant regulations. Major Gen. Why Lagos Pensioners on Contributory Scheme Gave 19-day Ultimatum To State Government

Giving the state government a 19-day ultimatum to pay or face the consequences, the pensioners who are under Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), blamed their planned protest on the systematic delay by their employer. The federal government has declared Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays to mark Eid-ul-Fitr.
