MAGGI has strengthened its connection with women and communities across South-East Nigeria, reaching 19,670 women through its 2026 August Meeting engagement, the brand’s largest participation in the annual cultural gathering to date.

The August Meeting tradition brought women across the South-East together to deliberate on family and community issues, celebrate their cultural heritage and reinforce the social bonds that unite them.

Building on the tradition, MAGGI expanded its engagement this year across five South-East states, partnering with 30 women’s associations and staging five market activations.

According to the brand, the initiative more than doubled participation compared with the previous year, underscoring its growing engagement with women at the heart of families and communities across the region.

Following the women’s meetings, MAGGI hosted celebratory receptions featuring cooking competitions, music, gifts and appearances by South-East-born actresses Ruby Ojiakor, Blessing Obasi and Blessing Onwukwe.

The three personalities brought their individual connections to the culture and significance of August Meeting to celebrations across the region.

Food remained at the centre of the activities, with culinary sessions introducing fresh and creative approaches to familiar meals, while cooking competitions provided participants with opportunities to demonstrate their culinary skills and creativity.

The celebrations were complemented by practical nutrition sessions focused on making nutritious food choices within the realities of household budgets.

Discussions covered balanced and diverse diets, the importance of micronutrients such as iron, and simple approaches to planning nutritious family meals.

Participants were also introduced to the role fortified foods can play as part of a varied and balanced diet, including MAGGI products fortified with iron.

Speaking on the engagement, Funmi Osineye, Category Manager, Culinary, Nestlรฉ Nigeria, said August Meeting represented an important platform for celebrating the contributions of women to families, communities and cultural preservation.

“August Meeting was a powerful expression of the role women play in strengthening families, preserving traditions and driving progress in their communities,” Osineye said.

She added that the gathering also provides an opportunity for women to connect, exchange experiences and learn from one another.

“For MAGGI, being part of this enduring tradition is especially meaningful as we mark 60 years in Nigeria. It is an opportunity to celebrate the women who have been part of our journey while creating an experience that brings together culinary inspiration, practical nutrition knowledge and the shared joy of food and community,” she said.

The celebratory experience was also highlighted by Blessing Onwukwe, who participated in the August Meeting activities in Enugu and Ebonyi States.

“Joining the 2026 August Meeting celebrations in Enugu and Ebonyi States was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed every moment and am truly glad to have had the opportunity to be part of the celebrations in both states,” she said.

For participants, the combination of food, gifts, entertainment and community interaction added to the significance of the annual gathering.

Christianna Nwibo, an Executive of the Catholic Women Organization, Nwofe, Ebonyi State, said the MAGGI engagement added excitement to their August Meeting.

“We really enjoyed the MAGGI experience at our August Meeting. The food was delicious, the gifts were wonderful, and we had such a good time,” she said.

With more than six decades of presence in Nigeria, MAGGI has continued to engage consumers through food, community and cultural platforms, with women remaining central to the brand’s relationship with households across the country.

From the kitchen to community traditions such as August Meeting, these engagements have provided opportunities for MAGGI to connect with consumers, exchange ideas, celebrate food and remain relevant to the communities it serves.

The 2026 August Meeting engagement came as MAGGI celebrated 60 years in Nigeria, marking another chapter in the brand’s longstanding relationship with Nigerian consumers while highlighting its focus on connecting with new generations through food, culture and community.
