Tanzania enters partnership with to Dangote for fertiliser, 2,000MW power projects after Kenya lands East African refinery

Tanzania has entered into partnership with Dangote for fertiliser, power and infrastructure investments from Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, after neighbouring Kenya was selected for planned giant East African oil refinery.

The move became well pronounced when a Tanzania 

Government’s delegation visited Dangote’s operations in Nigeria to advance projects discussed with President Samia Suluhu Hassan.


The talks include a proposed 2,000MW power plant, fertiliser production, port infrastructure and transport projects.


The push comes after Dangote chose neighbouring Kenya for a major 700,000-barrel-a-day refinery intended to serve East Africa.

  The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has released the full list of 16 officers of the Armed Forces of Nigeria who were indicted by a Special Investigative Panel over allegations of serious misconduct, including an alleged plot to overthrow the government of President Bola Tinubu. The Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, disclosed on Monday that the panel had concluded its investigation and found that several of the officers had cases to answer. He said the affected personnel would now face a military Court Martial in line with established procedures and extant regulations. Major Gen. Why Lagos Pensioners on Contributory Scheme Gave 19-day Ultimatum To State Government

  By allcitynews.ng  Worried about the delayed implementation, Pensioners under the payroll of Lagos State government are mobilising for protest against the state government over delayed payment of their entitlements. Giving the state government a 19-day ultimatum to pay or face the consequences, the pensioners who are under Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), blamed their planned protest on the systematic delay by their employer. According to them, “Having spent many years to serve the state government, it would not be fair that we are being subjected to untold pains to receive our entitlements.” The chairman, National Union of Pensioners under Contributory Pension Scheme (NUPCPS), Lagos State Council,  Michael Omisande said they have sent a warning letter to the state governor to credit the accounts of the pensioners with the Pension increases/Wage Award or incur the wrath of the Pensioners. The federal government has declared Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays to mark Eid-ul-Fitr. A statement on Tuesday, 17 March, by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Mrs Magdalene Ajani, urged Muslims to sustain the virtues of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice emphasised during the holy month of Ramadan. The work-free days were declared by government to celebrate the end of the 30-day Ramadan fast observed by Muslims in Nigeria and across the globe.
