NDLEA In Partnership Agreement With MFM To Strengthen Fight Against Drug Abuse

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Lagos State Command, has entered into stronger collaboration with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) as part of its campaign against substance abuse, particularly among young people and vulnerable communities.


Commending the roles played so far by the church in tackling drug abuse, NDLEA sought for more contributions of Olukoya and the church to the fight against substance abuse.


Noting that stronger collaboration with MFM would help expand prevention, rehabilitation and public education efforts in the fight against substance abuse,  especially as MFM has established drug and substance abuse Centre.



The Lagos State Commander of the NDLEA, Commander Abubakar Wali Liman, made the call when he led a delegation of senior officers on a courtesy visit to the General Overseer of MFM, Dr. Daniel K. Olukoya, at the church’s International Headquarters.


The visit, according to the Command, was aimed at strengthening collaboration with Olukoya, MFM and the Mountain Top Rehabilitation Centre (MTRC) in drug education, substance-use prevention, rehabilitation and drug demand reduction.


Liman, who was accompanied by Deputy Commander J.E. Akogwu, Deputy Commander of Narcotics and Drug Demand Reduction, Titilope Ogunluyi, and other senior officers, expressed appreciation for the contributions of Olukoya and the church to the fight against substance abuse.


He stressed the importance of faith-based institutions as partners in the national campaign against drug abuse, noting that prevention was most effective when legal, medical and spiritual interventions worked together.


The Commander also sought enhanced support from MFM in expanding drug demand reduction programmes, particularly in communities where young people and other vulnerable groups are exposed to substance abuse.


Representatives of Mountain Top Rehab, including Olusola Tejuosho, Olugbenga Taiwo and Babatunde Oladipupo, were also present at the meeting.


The engagement provided an opportunity for the NDLEA and MFM to strengthen institutional cooperation between government-led drug control efforts and faith-based prevention and rehabilitation initiatives.


The Mountain Top Rehabilitation Centre, established with the support of Olukoya, has been involved in rehabilitation and recovery interventions, as well as drug education and prevention efforts.


The NDLEA’s visit underscores the growing emphasis on partnerships with faith-based organisations as part of broader efforts to reduce demand for illicit drugs and protect vulnerable members of society.


The Command said stronger collaboration with institutions such as MFM would help expand prevention, rehabilitation and public education efforts in the fight against substance abuse.

  The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has released the full list of 16 officers of the Armed Forces of Nigeria who were indicted by a Special Investigative Panel over allegations of serious misconduct, including an alleged plot to overthrow the government of President Bola Tinubu. The Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, disclosed on Monday that the panel had concluded its investigation and found that several of the officers had cases to answer. Why Lagos Pensioners on Contributory Scheme Gave 19-day Ultimatum To State Government
