FICAN Shows All Inclusive Leadership Style, Elects Bukola As First Female Chairman, After 36 Years

Organised writers, in print, television, radio and online, covering the banking and other financial institutions, under the umbrella of Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria (FICAN) has finally broken the jinks surrounding the leadership by electing the first female, Bukola Aro-Lambo of LEADERSHIP Newspapers as first female chairman after 36 years of existence.
Aro-Lambo was elected as first female chairman in the history of FICAN is thereby marking a significant milestone for the association and financial journalism in the country.
Other elected exco mmembers are Tony Chukwuyem of New Telegraph as the Vice Chairman while Abiola Ismail of MITV, was elected as the General Secretary.
Others elected include Ebere Obike-Franklin of Radio Nigeria as Assistant General Secretary, Salamatu Ejembe of the Voice of Nigeria (VON) as Financial Secretary, and Comfort Ekeleme of Champion Newspapers as Treasurer.

Her emerged as chairman during the association’s election held yesterday in Lagos yesterdays seen by members as a defining moment for the association, which comprises journalists covering Nigeria’s financial services sector, including banking, capital markets, insurance, pensions, and the broader economy
