Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church organises 3-Day retreat for Advisory Board Members
The Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church (ESOCS) Worldwide organised a three-day retreat for members of its Advisory Board, themed: “Cherubim and Seraphim Centenary Celebration Appraisal: What Next?”
The retreat, which took place from 5th - 7th February 2026 was designed to provide a platform for Advisory Board members to deliberate on strategies for sustaining continuous quality improvement in the management and leadership of the church.
Declaring the retreat open at the Protea Hotel, Ikeja, His Most Eminence, Baba Aladura and Prelate of ESOCS Church Worldwide, Dr David D. L. Bob-Manuel, charged members of the Advisory Board to ensure that the church embraces renewed and deliberate efforts, intensified with vigour, to pursue the original tenets of the church.
Baba Aladura said: “The vision that drove the church in the last hundred years is evangelizing around Africa in general and Nigeria in particular to the spiritual way of worship which is devoid of all the devilish practices and sacrifices with uncompromised faith in the Holy Bible and the world of God, and in salvation through Jesus Christ and in the trinity in unity. This is the foundation that Christ laid for us through the Founder, St Moses Orimolade Tunolase and there is no other foundation laid except the one laid by Jesus Christ.”
Earlier, the Secretary to the Holy Order, His Eminence, Elder Dr I. U. Omoike, expressed appreciation to members of the Advisory Board for their invaluable individual and collective contributions to the growth and success of the church over the years. He noted that retreats for church leaders are intentional and highly beneficial.
According to him, “They are designed to remove top leaders from the daily pressure of work in order to allow them to focus on strategic planning, long-term visioning and strengthening inter-personal relationship.”
He added that such retreats are meant “to foster innovations and align leaders with church values to provide necessary things that boost morale, trust, mental well-being and rejuvenation.”
Elder Omoike further explained that the retreat was aimed at enhancing church growth and development, while also promoting performance evaluation, forward thinking, leadership development, and a culture of continuous quality improvement.
He also humbly recommended, with a strong sense of responsibility, that future editions of the retreat should include health talks and health checks, either in the morning or afternoon during the programme.
Earlier, His Eminence, Elder Dr Dere Otubu, welcomed members of the Advisory Board to the ninth edition of the retreat. He said the retreat was structured to enable the board to appraise the centenary celebration, assess achievements and shortcomings, and develop plans for the future.
Elder Otubu added that the retreat would also provide an opportunity for the Advisory Board to review the growth strategy of the church.
