Jerry Amah replaces Lumumba Okugbawa as General Secretary of PENGASSAN

The senior staff union in oil and gas industry, Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has named Comrade Jerry Amah Jr as the new Acting General Secretary effective December 5th 2025.
His appointment became imperative in order to fill the office based on the retirement of the former General Secretary, Comrade Lumumba Okugbawa.
Until his new post, Amah was the Deputy General Secretary in charge of Finance and Administration of PENGASSAN.
He is expected to bring his vast expertise to fast track and also sustain the cordial relationship between workers in the oil and gas industry and the entire labour unions following his past experience as an Assistant General Secretary, Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC),Director, Marketing & Communication at Federal University Wukari, Taraba State.
He is also expected to bring experience from previous roles at Federal University Wukari, Trade Union Congress of Nigeria and New Age Newspapers. Jerry Amah holds a 1993 - 2006 Masters of Science in Mass Communication/Media Studies and Diploma in Social Development and Administration@ University of Lagos.
With a robust skill set that includes Crisis Communications, Marketing Communications, Editing, Media Relations, Public Relations and more. He is also a pioneer student of the Labour Migration College, Turin, Italy and was part of the eminent personalities that fashioned out the Micheal Imoudu Labour Institute governing laws, the Labour Migration Policy and the Workman's Compensation Act.
Comrade Jerry Amah' is married with six children. He is also a recipient of several honorary degrees and Awards.
