A Non-Governmental  Organisation (NGO), "Habour of Hope Initiative For the Less Privileged" has pledged its readiness to pursue the vision to lift people, especially the less privileged out of hardship and also reduce food security affecting most people in the land.

In achieving this, the Habour of Hope Initiative, apart from including free medical tests and free medicines, also distributed food and textile materials for the less privileged around Ogudu Kingdom.

"The food and clothes are short term solutions to tackling poverty while the organisation is planning to train the people by skills acquisition and eventual empowerment to make them  wealth creators as long term solution."

The Founder and President of the foundation, Faith Wagbasoma, in a chat with allcitynews.ng during the outreach said, the gesture was in fulfilment of her promise she made with God when her children were at the point of death.

She explained that the inclusion of the  free medicare was because most people are finding it tough to get necessary medical care, which they ought to get due to harsh economic situation in the country.

Citing the rising costs of medications and healthcare services as her reason for the free medication, Wagbasoma noted that the foundation’s efforts are focused on filling the gaps in healthcare delivery, particularly in underserved communities.

Wagbasoma also called on well-to-do individuals and non-governmental organisations to join hands in supporting healthcare initiatives, advocating for increased access to medical care, and promoting healthy practices and reducing poverty by enrollment of unemployable hands through skills acquisition.

While commending the King of Ogudu, Oba Najimu Akinwunmi Fashola Ogabi 1,

for allowing them to use his Palace for the event, Wagbasoma also applauded the people of Ogudu for their support and hospitality based on huge turnout of the people.

“Through this initiative, the Habour of Hope Initiative Foundation continues to demonstrate its commitment to building stronger communities and keeping hope alive by empowerment of less  privileged ones.

“High blood pressure is a leading cause of death among adults. Regular check-ups can help avert some critical conditions of blood pressure that may lead to death. Every family is supposed to have a BP testing apparatus to enable them maintain a regular check of their BP status. This is because high blood pressure, as a silent killer, is a leading cause of death now.”

Also speaking, Co-Founder, Wagbatsoma Ayeola, stated that the history of the foundation and their giving to the less privileged started when their children survived health challenges after birth.

Maintaining that they would continue to give back to society through medical outreach, food and clothing, the couple said they intend spreading the outreach to other parts of the country and West African countries with

And the Ologudu of Ogudu Kingdom,  King Najimu Akinwunmi Fashola, appealed to philanthropic Nigerians to join hands in addressing needs of millions of Nigerians amidst challenges of hunger, hardship and insecurity in the land.

The King, while donating his Palace to be used for the programme, said he decided to give his Palace for use because the issue in tackling hardship associated with hard economic situation has been his concern.

Fashola who flagged off Harbour of Hope for the less privileged outreach to the people in and around his domain, said, its a good gesture and called on more Nigerians to emulate the organisation.
