Fidelity Bank, as part of it initiatives entered into joint partnership with an NGO, Greenfingers wildlife Initiative and took war against climate change to Elegusi Beach by planting 30 trees.
Speaking at the tree planting exercise, which took place inside Elegusi Beach, Lekki, Lagos on Thursday, December 4, 2025, the Team Lead, Corporate Social Responsibility, Fidelity Bank Plc, Mrs. Victoria Abuka, who led the team of Fidelity Bank scholars explained that the bank embarked in the project as a way of its goal for environmental preservation.
"Fidelity Bank on Thursday went on planting of trees in Elegusi Beach."
Noting that environmental preservation is one of a key driver of Fidelity Bank CSR focus, she said the bank is always interested in sustainability of cleaner environmenanimals as its neglects can be counterproductive as aquatic animals, exposed to contermination through unkempt environment will end up on dining table of human beings with their contermination.
“We believe that protecting the earth is a shared responsibility. This initiative is not a one-time event, it is a continuation of our ongoing efforts to drive sustainable and best practices. We are committed to ensuring that our environment, including the water environment are protected from pollution.
According to Abuka, Besides the tree planting exercise, Fidelity Bank who actively supports environmental conservation through several initiatives across the country also embarked on clearing of the beach to remove any form of waste materials from the ocean shores.
"We are grateful as this is not just a one-off collaboration, but a continuous relationship that we will continue to nurture. Tree planting plays a critical role in our bank's climate action and resilience plan and our target for this to continue to have environmental friendly operations.

On his part, the founder of the NGO, Greenfingers Wildlife Initiative, Chinedu Mogbo, stated that the partnership became imperative based on the pursue of Greenfingers wildlife Initiative to have safer environment both for humanities and for animals.
"The partnership is also meant to have proper collaboration for beautification of the environment through planting of trees and sustainability of lives."
