Which colour/painting is meant for Lagos State commercial vehicles? Stakeholders
By allcitynews.ng
Some stakeholders have expressed their concerns about two paintings/colours being used by commercial buses in Lagos, wondering which of them or are both recognised by state government.
Since its inception in March 17, 2008, the management team of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) came out with distinctive colour which always create quick difference in minds of everyone.
Then, there arrived the mini buses with the same colour in 2021 with the commissioning of 5000 mini buses by Mr Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, Since then, most privately-owned buses have gradually been repainting their own buses to same colour of LAMATA.
Allcitynews finding showed that some of those repainting their own buses to look like LAMATA are doing so to avoid arrest by law enforcement officers as they are mostly mistaken at first site with the state-owned buses.
Speaking with allcitynews, a curious man who observed the buses said, "which of these buses are own by LAMATA as they are now wearing same painting."
According to the concerned Lagosian, Mr Taiwo Ajedi, "unless LAMATA take a step to correct this now, one may not be able to identify LAMATA buses from privately owned ones as both big and mini buses are painting their vehicles into same colour of Lagos State owned buses."
To Mrs Maduka, "'Lagos State and its agency, LAMATA should let the general public know if there are now two different colours, it is yellow or this new colour or they want to use it side by side?
"But in a country where we have some criminal minded people, they may use such paint/colour do evil thing without ordinary people able to differentiate LAMATA buses from privately owned buses."
