The Maritime Correspondents’ Organisation of Nigeria (MARCON) has announced that the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) will headline deliberations at its forthcoming All Maritime Journalists Retreat.
In the conference stakeholders across the maritime, trade, finance, and technology sectors will convene to explore innovative approaches to strengthening Nigeria’s trade ecosystem.
Scheduled for Thursday, 4 December 2025, at De Marii Hotel LFZ in the Lagos Free Trade Zone, Lekki, this year’s retreat is themed “Maximising Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Import and Export Trade.”
According to a statement jointly signed by Paul Ogbuokiri, Chairman, and Adaku Onyenucheya, Secretary of the Conference Planning Committee, the FIRS will deliver a technical paper titled “Onboarding on the National Single Window Platform: A Step by Step Guide.”
The presentation will provide practical insights into integrating with the National Single Window (NSW), a transformative platform designed to streamline documentation, improve transparency, and enhance the efficiency of import and export processes.
MARCON noted that with the NSW Secretariat domiciled within the FIRS, the agency’s participation reflects its central role in driving technology-enabled trade facilitation and supporting the government’s efforts to modernise revenue administration and compliance systems.
