Why we suspended strike against Dangote, NUPENG helmsman

The leadership of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) decided to suspend the two days old strike as the management of Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited agreed to open door for unionism.
Confirming this to allcitynews, NUPENG President, Comrade Williams Akporeha, pointed out that the strike was called off as Dangote refinery team led by Sayyu Dantata, agreed to unionise its drivers.
He said the meeting where the agreement was signed was summoned by the Department of State Services.
“We have suspended the strike as Dangote Refinery has agreed to unionise its drivers."
According to the NUPENG helmsman, the unionization process is to be completed in two weeks.
In the same vein, the General Secretary of NUPENG, Comrade Afolabi Olawale who made this known in a statement, sent to allcitynews, said the reconciliation meeting yielded positive results as the agreement during the which was jointly signed by NUPENG and the representatives of Dangote, NBLC agreed to allow unionism to take place in the company.
Likewise, NUPENG General Secretary, Comrade Afolabi Olawale in earlier statement sent to allcitynews, claimed that, "The MoU was signed by Mr. Sayyu Dantata and Otunba Jibrin, for the management, Comrade Benson Upah for NLC, Prince Williams Akporeha and Afolabi Olawale, for NUPENG, Nuhu Toro for TUC, Mr. O.K. Ukoha for NMDPRA, and Falonipe Amos , for Ministry of Labour and Employment."
