PenCom partners NLC to smoothen pension scheme

     By allcitynews.blog  As part of the measure to  smoothen and harmonise workers' pension, the Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, has entered into partnership agreement with Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). They signed the agreement on Friday, August 29, 2025 during her courtesy visit to the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, at the NLC Headquarters in Abuja. Speaking during the visit, Ms. Oloworaran said the meeting was aimed at strengthening collaboration between PenCom and organised labour in advancing the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) in Nigeria. Apparently aware of the long time consequences that would follow his action, Opeifa has apologised to both Ladi Bala and the entire NUJ over a recent altercation with the union. Opeifa in an exclusive telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday, 30  August 2025 in Abuja, said he had “done the needful” in response to NUJ’s demand for an apology. As a way to enforce its zero tolerance for auto crashes, the Dangote Articulated Trucks Drivers Training School (DATDTS), in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), is implementing stricter entry requirements for aspiring drivers.  This development comes as Dangote Cement Plc undertakes the recertification and screening of all its truck drivers at the company’s Obajana plant in Kogi State.  Speaking to newsmen at the Obajana Plant, Head of Transport, Dangote Cement Plc, Mr. Murilo Silva, said as part of efforts to promote safe driving and achieve zero road crashes, the company has since begun installing cameras across its fleet of thousands of CNG trucks.  He revealed that applicants must be at least 23 years of age and poss...

Government announced that the development will become effective from September 1, 2025. This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday by the spokesman for the Nigeria Immigration Service, A.S. Akinlabi. Akinlabi stated that the increment aims to ensure the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport set to take effect on September 1, 2025. “The review, which only affects passport application fees made in Nigeria, now sets new fee for a 32-page passport with 5-year validity at N100,000 and a 64-page passport with 10-year validity at N200,000. “Meanwhile, Nigerian passport application fees made by Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged at $150 for a 32-page passport with 5-year validity and $230 for a 64-page passport with 10-year validity,” he said.
