Wealth Generation Expo 2026 might have come and gone, but the derived lessons from that event will remain long in the minds of all participants.

The event, organised by Pyrex Consult in partnership with the Lagos State Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Wealth Creation and Employment, which took place, May 1,  2026 at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and young innovators.

The programme focused on sustainable wealth creation, intentional building, and financial structuring in Nigeria.

The keynote speaker,  Professor Akin  Akinpelu, other stakeholders including the technical team that spoke during the panel of discussions, all agreed that the time to shift from mere making money into creating rooms for sustainable wealth should  become main drive for all and sundry.

The CEO, Akin Akinpelu Learning and Development Company, reiterating on the need to build lasting wealth, pointed out that "the reason why the poor remained in poverty level is because of lack of system whereby they can channel their money, wealth into futuristic  development.

The gathering, in unanimous decision admitted that there   should be shifting from income to structure, and moving beyond mere income earning to intentional wealth building through systems and structures.

"Policy  implementation and enforcement by government is the main barrier to building, maintening and sustainability of such Policy," the panellists agreed.

On his part, the newly appointed SSA to Governor Sanwo-Olu, on wealth generation, Ambassador Comrade Saheed Tijani Oluwadare, while addressing the participants, focused on youth and entrepreneurship.

Leading discussions on empowering the next generation of leaders and tackling the reluctance of young people to participate in long-term interventions, Saheed encouraged them to avoid 'get rich quick' syndrome and embrace long lasting wealth which could lead to building personal and nationwide economy.

Just as the Chairman, Wealth Creation and Employment, Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Foluke Osafile, pointedly said, "We are gathered here today to  discuss on sustainable wealth creation because wealth is not only talking of money.

According to Osafile, "wealth generation goes beyond finance, which  is why we must use this programme to speak into the future of this country to transform from pursuing of cash into all-round wealth."

Speaking on the theme, Building Sustainable System, Structure and  Model of Wealth, Honourable Foluke Osafile,  pointed out that speaking to the future of Nigerians must begin with inclusion of youth whereby they would be taught that wealthiness goes beyond physical cash, which would make them become future builders of the country.

In the same vein, the Principal Consultant, Pyrex Consult, Dr Sijuade Balogun, in his welcome address said, "today marks just another conference, it is meant to enlighten everyone on intentional wealth and sustainable success. This  Wealth Generation Expo 2026 is  designed to bring together great minds, proven leaders and  practical solutions that will help us to move from ideas to results."

The expo showcased collaboration between state actors and private entities, including representatives from across various  fields in Lagos and various local government leaders, to create an economically empowered society.

The programme which was interactive in nature, gave participants the chance to voice out their concerns, even as they all admitted that there is need for  financial literacy by taking such training to schools in the state.

Likewise, one  of the commercial banks, Access Holdings used the occasion to enlighten everyone of the need to imbibe the culture of savings as one of the steps in activating sustainable wealth.
